Knowledge Management System (KMS)

One of the results of Innofoot is a system that was developed to significantly improve the diagnostic evaluation of patients and the prescription and development of shoe/insole solutions by providing orthopaedic technicians and chiropodists with IT tools to access task-specific knowledge and to exchange information with other players (peer, patients, companies, etc.). This system is referred to as the Knowledge Management System (KMS). The KMS system is freely available online at http://innofoot.ibv.org.

2 Training tools have been developed:

One tool has focused on education of academic students of shoemaking technology, as well as already established orthopeadic producers who can use it to broaden their knowledge in latest development in the shoemaking technologies, especially in production of orthopaedic footwear. This training tool has been developed by the Tomas Bata University in Zlin and is free to be downloaded from this website.

The second tool is an on-line training tool, develop by the Institute for Biomechanics in Valencia (IBV). This so-called Innofoot e-learning course is aimed to give you an overview of the most important issues in the filed of the orthotic treatment of foot disorders. The material you will find in this course has been extracted principally from a collection of books published by the Dutch association NVOS and from the contents of the Knowledge Management System (KMS) also developed within Innofoot. The e-learning course can be reached via http://campus.ibv.org. For more information and a password to enter the course, send an e-mail to Sergio Puigcerver (sergio.puigcerver@ibv.upv.es).
